This is an excursion suitable for all types of vehicles, hassle free, that provides pleasant surprises in all its points.
We will give a general description of the route (not necessarily making suggestions) with starting point being Aidipsos. Of course he visitor can choose any other point to depart from, provided there is a degree of tourism at point of choice.
Our direction therefore is:
Aidipsos -Ilia-Agiannikos - Damia - Kalamoudi -Monastery of St.David - Drimona - Waterfalls - Crossroad of Kokkinomilia - Voutas - Istiaia - Oreoi - Neos Pyrgos - Aidipos.
Extension of route: Kokkinomilia - Krioneritis - Milies - Monokaria - Istiaia.
Diversion: Detour of the Monastery and Waterfalls, head straight from Ilia to Voutas.
In total, the journey is between 65 and 85 kilometers, depending on the differentiations.
The best suggestion is to choose a bright sunny day for this excursion so that you can enjoy the majestic mountain sights of Evia in all its extent. The whole of the journey is on paved roads. We must warn the visitors that after heavy rainfall, some points in the road do experience mud slides (especially the section after Voutas) and rarely the roads are closed off.
In such a case, a diversion would be via Krioneritis. This route has three sections: the mountainous (crossroads at the Monastery of St. David-Drimona-Waterfalls until Voutas or Monokaria, depending on choice), the valley route (Monokaria or Voutas up to the Istiaia area) and the beachside route (from Aidipsos up to the crossroads at the Monstery of St. David and from Oreoi up to Pirgos).
