silogi edipsou 02The archeological collection is situated on the entresol of the Hydrotherapy center of the Greek Tourism Agency. Many of the bigger exhibits can be found in the receiving area, on the main floor. In the entrance of the building there are two signed pedestals for the local authorities of Roman Evia.

In the receiving area, is a display of a plaque with symbols of the prehistoric hero Hercules, his bow and lion skin as well as the supernatural statue of a dressed man of the 2nd or 3rd century A.D. on the entresol, in the foyer of the exhibition room, we can find a grave stele fragment the 4th century B.C from Gialtra and depicts a nude young man as well as part of a Roman statue of Hercules.
In this collection we can see srtifacts from the prehistoric past of the area, especially findings from the excavations at the prehistoric settlement of Koumpi Hill, 2km north of Aidipsos. Exhibits are offered of ceramics from the geometrical up to the roman years from Kasteli in Gialtra village and from the excavations in several plots in the center of Aidipsos. Also saved are the Mycenaean sword that was found in the area around Kastaniotissa near Istiaia, as well as axes and chisels found on the nearby Mount Kantili.
